Was recommended by friend whose office is in the area. We liked location, service people, resturant, ymca nearby, and parking.
Price for parking. We only took car our once in 4 days .Felt $40.00 per day was a little to much. Room was small and would have preferred sink in bathroom but view of bay and bridge made up for it.

It is very easy to reach to the hotel from anywhere in the city and from sfo airport. The room is beautiful, very very cozy and the bed is extremelly confortable. Staff is helpful. We just stayed for one night but had a great stay there.

All requirements to make a stay comfortable were fulfilled, and as I don't intend to spend much time in the hotel room the lack of space didn't bother me much (I had one of the smaller rooms, most are larger). Wired and wireless Internet access available, bed is ok, pretty quiet: not much noises, nor from inside nor from outside. Location close to perfect, mass transportation and restaurants within few minutes walk and if you don't mind walking some more, almost all touristic attractions are within reach by foot. Bar/Restaurant linked to the hotel is convenient.
Room window can not be opened for some fresh air. Breakfast is extra and from the menu (limited choice), where I personally would prefer a buffet.

The security was excellent. The hotel had all the needed amenities including two computers for guest use. The staff was very friendly and pleasant. The location (across from the Ferry building) was great. Good public transportation was very nearby as was a great selection of dining options. the room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel was "green" which I appreciated.
Both windows in the room looked out at brick walls making the room very dark. I did get a good rate through Booked.net and wondered if this was why I had this room.

I was having a credit card issue when I was checking in. The desk clerk was understanding and the problem was resolved.
Not really a complaint, I expected the room to be small. the room was small.Bbut compared to the prices of other hotels for this particular weekend, it was a great deal.

Location, room style and comfort, safe neighborhood for solos, valet parking. A perfect small hotel.
As with all sf hotels, the extra fees for parking are high; however, the Griffon is a bargain compared to downtown hotels. No breakfast served except for room service.

Staff was very very nice. I twisted my ankle the 1st evening and they helped me to find a doctor, a pharmacy and even gave me a wheel chair for a day. The room was nice, not very large but sufficient. There is no breakfast but there is coffee, tea and fruits.
There was no mobile network in the room and the only window was on a small court thus not a lot of light.

was a little too hot and I must say the toilet tissue was VERY rough. I would expect a much better grade of tissue for the money that I paid for the room.

Room was clean and comfortable, but very small, and looked out on a narrow interior courtyard, so no Bay Bridge view for us, and very little daylight. Through Booked.net we got a room with parking included for only a dollar extra, which was a phenomenal bargain. Staff were efficient and friendly.

The staff was fantastic. Especially the two gentlemen helping me in the wee hours of the morning. I had left my cellphone in the cab and they did as much as they could to help me track it down. The room was quaint and clean. Overall a very positive experience.
Valet parking was a whopping $45. Do the self park garage instead but there are no in and out privileges.

It is in a good location to downtown and to the wharf.
I could not believe what this hotel was charging to park a car overnight. Should you be on a budget, this is not the place to stay. Countless hotels offer free parking.

It was a small room and close to the bay bridge.
The valet took forever to get my car.

It was quiet and very european--small rooms, but very comfortable--we liked the proximity to the Ferry bldg and the staff was excellent--also--the attention to the eco movement was great--we so appreciated the parking afforded to Priuses!
